In this meeting, Dr. Xue-Jun Kong was invited to give a speech titled "Autonomic Dysfunction in Patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)"
She talked about:
Autonomic dysfunction is commonly present in ASD with considerable heterogeneity which differentiated them to distinct psychomotor subgroups;
Autonomic nerve system and the gut microbiome interact with on another in the phenotypic presentation and pathogenesis of autism via gut brain axis;
Autonomic index and microbiome profile have predictive capability in ASD diagnosis and subgrouping;
Interventions addressing autonomic dysfunctions demonstrated efficacy in ASD treatment which warrant further studies.
